Summary:
The Application Scientist represents the interface between the research lab and the customer. The primary area of responsibility will be the MGTTM business, Mascoma’s advanced yeast for the ethanol industry. Coordinating closely with the R&D team, the Applications Scientist is responsible for effective scale-up, technical transfer, introduction/launch, and optimization of MGT products in a customer-specific context. This is a technical position, which will require technical knowledge of the MGT product line, knowledge of industrial fermentation processes including yeast and enzymes used in the ethanol industry, effective teamwork skills, and effectiveness at prioritizing activities according to business and customer needs.
